H1 Unlimited Awards

Nov 2, 2024:  The H1 Unlimited Awards Banquet celebrating the accomplishments of the 2024 season was held at the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum.  Andrew Tate was awarded the Bill Muncey National Champion Driver trophy for his 1st place finish in National Season Driver High Points.  Andrew and Crew Chief Michael Hanson accepted the Martini & Rossi National Champion trophy on behalf of Miss Madison Racing and sponsor Goodman Real Estate.

Madison Regatta was recognized as 2024 Race site of the Year. Congratulations to the Regatta Committee on this achievement. Ya Gotta Regatta!

U-1 is Back!

Sept 15, 2024:  Andrew Tate posted a 2-lap average qualifying speed of 165.116 mph in U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate at the San Diego Bayfair APBA Gold Cup.   That speed netted another Revchem Fast Lap Award for the U-91.  Tate went on to add 3 Preliminary Heat wins to secure the 2024 H1 Unlimited National Championship.  The U-1 designation will return to Miss Madison Racing’s Miss Goodman Real Estate for the 2025 season.

2024 Season Showdown on Mission Bay

The stage is set for the 2024 H1 Unlimited Season Finale on the Bill Muncey Race Course on Mission Bay in San Diego  September 13-15.  The stakes are high as the H1 Unlimited fleet will race for the prestigious APBA Gold Cup and the determination of the 2024 Season National High Points Championship.  Andrew Tate and the U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate take a 949 point lead into the event.  Don’t Miss Southern California’s Largest Beach Festival.

Apollo Cup at Seafair

August 4:  Andrew Tate in the U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate once again captured the RevChem Fast Lap Award with a top qualifying speed of 156.895 mph at Seafair on Lake Washington.  Andrew picked up 2 Preliminary Heat wins and a 2nd place to secure a spot in the winner-take-all Final Heat.  In the milling period prior to the start of the Final Heat, the U-91 was sustained damage from an encroachment from another boat.  Andrew was able to continue on to a 4th place finish.  Miss Goodman Real Estate takes a 949 Season High Points lead into the final event of the season, the APBA Gold Cup in San Diego, CA September 13-15, 2024.

Apollo Columbia Cup

Low water levels on the Columbia River race course forced the race committee to shorten the race course to  2 miles because of safety concerns.  Andrew Tate collected the RevChem Fastest Lap Qualifying Award  in the U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate with a speed of 156.185 mph on the shortened course along with 3 preliminary heat wins headed into the winner-take-all final heat.  Andrew got into rough water prior to the start, but was able to finish in 2nd place finish.

Hometown Champs

July 7, 2024:  After a challenging race weekend of successes and setbacks, Andrew Tate and the U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate crew put in the work to bring home a victory on the Ohio River in Madison, IN.  Andrew picked up 2 preliminary heat wins during the weekend’s competition.  The Miss Madison Racing driver and crew accepted the Indiana Governor’s Cup for Governor Eric Holcomb.

Madison Regatta in Full Swing

July 6:  After thunderstorms plagued the morning, qualifying for the H1 Unlimited hydroplanes was held in the afternoon.  Saturday and Sunday are promising good weather for lots of action on the water.

2024 Southern Cup Champions!

After some challenges with the common afternoon thunderstorms in Guntersville, Alabama, Andrew Tate drove the U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate victory in the winner-take-all final heat.  Andrew took a commanding lead at the start of the heat and led wire to wire to take the win.   The U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate and Andrew accumulated 1125 National High Points in the first race of the 2024 season and leave Guntersville with the points lead.

It’s Time for Southern Hospitality!

June 28:  The H1 Unlimited hydroplanes rolled into Guntersville, Alabama and after a successful Street Party at City Harbor on Thursday evening, the hydroplanes will take the water from 2-5 p.m. for testing

Racing action will continue Saturday and Sunday culminating in the win we take all final Heat and the awarding of the Southern Cup.  For all the information visit explorelakeguntersville.org

2024 Kicks Off

Seven H1 Unlimited hydroplanes along with Grand Prix, 1 liters and a vintage Unlimited took to the waters of the Columbia River for the Apollo presents Water Fillies Spring Splash testing session.

Miss Madison Racing’s U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate (2018 hull) piloted by Andrew Tate posted the top speed of the day at 165.828 MPH.

Fastest lap speeds for other Unlimited hydroplanes at the Test session were:

U-1 Beacon Electric: 162.604 MPH
U-40 Bucket List Racing: 161.330 MPH
U-9 Beacon Plumbing: 160.034 MPH
U-11 Miss Mercurys Coffee: 158.537 MPH
U-12 Graham Trucking: 152.533 MPH
U-21 Go Fast Turn Left: 151.622

The boats will next appear June 29-30 on Lake Guntersville, Alabama for the first race event of the 2024 season.
